Biography

Chee-Seng enjoys contemplating life. His experience in psychological research and self-awareness has led him to believe that everything has two bright and dark sides. He enjoys assisting people in realizing their potential and advocates using scientific methods to explore ways to improve life satisfaction. He has conducted training on creativity, growth mindset, and psychological wellness for schools, organizations, and the community.

Chee-Seng is a member of the Asian Association of Social Psychology (AASP), the International Association for Relationship Research (IARR), and the Malaysian Psychological Association (PSIMA). He is the associate editor of BMC Psychology, Frontiers in Psychology, and Humanities and Social Sciences Communications. He is also an editorial member of the Journal of Pacific Rim Psychology and Makara Human Behavior Studies in Asia.

Research interests

1. Positive Psychology

2. Psychometrics

3. Social Psychology  

His research focuses on people's optimal functioning, such as creativity and well-being, and the development and validation of psychological measurements. He is also interested in investigating the factors linked to a more or less contented life while single. He refers to this area of study as positive singlehood.
