Biography

Mary Nkemdilim Okocha-Ajila is from Delta-state, Nigeria. She worked for several years in Ibadan, Nigeria, as a broadcaster with Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, before joining Osun State University, Nigeria as a communications lecturer. Mary has several years’ experience in content creation for radio production and presentation. She is a Doctoral fellow of The National Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIHSS).

In 2020, she won the Cadbury Research Fellowship, Birmingham. In the same year, she also won the Coimbra Group short stay Fellowship Programme for Africa, at Jagiellonian University, Krakow. As a lecturer she teaches courses in media, communication and culture.

Media, Film and Cultural Studies, Audiences, and Performance.
