Mohit Bhatara

Educational Background

Dr. Mohit Bhatara’s academic qualifications include a graduate degree, a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, and a Doctorate degree in Psychology. His additional academic credentials include the Level 9 Post-Graduate Professional program in Clinical Leadership from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, accredited by the National University of Ireland then he has earned alumni status with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. His academic journey started with the pursuit of a Complementary Medicine credential. He also holds Postgraduate Diploma in (RP)/ Rehabilitation Psychology with edX MicroMasters program in Business Management from the (IIM- Bangalore). Dr. Mohit has further achieved a Fellowship in Neurological Rehabilitation.

He was a first-class student during his graduation, Master’s degree, Postgraduate Diploma (RP), and MicroMasters program. He participated in diverse extracurricular activities and won honors and awards in various domains during his undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Panjab University, Chandigarh, and Amity University, Noida. His research journey was constructive; he started as a student at Amity, and then Mewar, later serving as a non-resident post-doctoral researcher on a nationwide survey in India with Dr. Robinder Bedi's Lab at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.

Biography

He is working as a faculty member in the Department of Psychology. In the past, he has been involved in instructing postgraduate and undergraduate-level courses. He has engaged in approximately 37 training courses and webinars, 14 CRE programs, 3 FDPs, and 7 workshops, such as the educational activity on Introduction to Lifestyle Medicine conducted in Boston by the Department of Continuing Education, Harvard Medical School, USA. The conference poster entitled 'A National Survey of Indian Counseling Psychologists' was awarded 2nd place in the American Psychological Association Division 52 (International Psychology) poster competition held in San Francisco, CA during the American Psychological Association annual convention. He has co-authored 30 articles published in various international and national journals. Furthermore, he pursued and completed 8 other certifications. These include a Diploma in Clinical Counselling, a TESOL/TEFL certification, courses on the Essentials of CBT: The Beck Approach and Integrating CBT and Mindfulness Series by the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, two courses on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)—ACT as a Brief Intervention and ACT for Beginners—both conducted by Dr. Russ Harris, a course on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills led by Dr. Marsha Linehan, and a course focused on Web Education on Deafblindness (Db).

He has experience in academia, the clinical domain, the management domain, and as a consultant in different countries across the globe. He worked in the UAE with a tertiary care healthcare JCI-accredited hospital in the past. He has served as an associate professor in Africa with a public university and then as an affiliate faculty member at Dr. Robinder Bedi's lab at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He was nominated as an External Consultant Advisor by the Vice President for Research and Community Services with an African public academic institution. He has worked as a management professional in the wellness and aesthetic domain in India with a corporate hospitality group accredited with a 5-star rating. He has experience in consulting as a consultant and in research while he was in the UAE and India. In the academic sphere, his contributions have been multifaceted. He has served as secretary to the course designing committee for the master's level course, as a member of the committee for initiating a research journal in the department, as a secretary on the committee for initiating the laboratory for the psychology department, and acted as a key person in facilitating MOUs between industrial parks (companies) in Africa and the department in the university to support each other as a research-sharing center. He enjoys exploring global cultures and has travelled to various countries.He would love to engage in simulation flying in his free time and return to flying single-engine aircraft if the situation permits.

He holds valid memberships in various categories, including the Fulbright Association, The 51 Ventures Fund 1, the British Holistic Medical Association, the International Society for Traditional, Complementary & Integrative Medicine Research, the American Psychological Association, and a chartered membership with the British Psychological Society. He has a valid license as a registered professional to practice with the RCI, and had an approved LOI to practice in the past with DHCC with an approved PSV.

Research Interests

His current interest lies in medicopsychology and healthcare practices, with a particular focus on the application of psychological principles in medical contexts. He is especially intrigued by the roles of lifestyle medicine and mental health within this interdisciplinary approach.
