Biography
Juma Kasadha has over 10 years’ teaching experience at different universities and served as a post-doctoral fellow at his Alma mater, City University of Hong Kong. For 13 years he has practiced journalism and covered: Education, Environment, Politics, Health, ICT, Gender issues, and Post-Conflict Sub Saharan Africa.
His research, located at the intersection of digital technologies with reconciliation, civic engagement and journalism seeks to widen the methodological spectrum of media text analysis. He has presented his findings at top-tier conferences: World Association for Public Opinion Research (WAPOR), International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR), American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR), and Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).
And he has published in top-tier journals: Social Media and Society, International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, Journal of Public Affairs, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Sociology of Health & Illness, Visual Communication, and he reviews for numerous top-tier journals.
