Biography
Alfredo Oquendo taught in South Korea for six years before joining WKU in the Fall of 2021. He graduated with a degree in Mathematical Sciences from Kean University U.S.A in 2011 and was the captain of the Men’s Soccer team that won the NJAC championship during his senior year. He later played soccer professionally in Ecuador (South America) for 2 years before a serious injury cut his athletic career short.
Alfredo returned to the United States to pursue a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, along with a certificate in translation/interpretation (English/Spanish) from Montclair State University. Before moving to Asia, he freelanced as an interpreter for numerous Spanish speaking embassies in the New York City area and was a goalkeeping coach for a few soccer academies.
Alfredo enjoys cooking, reading, motorcycles, dancing and is an avid traveler.
