Biography

Yanmin Yu obtained her Ph.D. from S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.

 

She was a professor of Mass Communication and Chair of the Graduate Program in Global Media and Communication Studies at Paier College and University of Bridgeport before that. Dr. Yu taught mass communication courses including Media Law, International Journalism, Communication Theory, Political Communication and Public Diplomacy, Intercultural Communication, and Advertising and PR Campaign among others.

A three-time recipient of Fulbright Scholarship, Dr. Yu conducted research in Egypt, Israel, Australia, and Senegal. She has authored a number of journal articles, book chapters, and books.

Research interests

Dr. Yu’s research interests include media and society, media and foreign policy, media and international relations, and intercultural communication.
