Biography
Monica Carr, PhD is an Ass. Professor (Tenure Track) at Wenzhou Kean University, Wenzhou, China. Before joining WKU, Monica worked as a Researcher at the University of Waikato, New Zealand, and previously in both teaching and research at Monash University and The University of Melbourne, Australia. Monica’s research focus is on improving outcomes for neurodiverse individuals, particularly those diagnosed on the Autism spectrum, using methods that adhere to the best evidence standards. She brings expertise in single-subject research designs from the field of Applied Behavior Analysis, as well as large group studies that have focused on stakeholder values, and strives to communicate research across paradigms. Currently Monica serves on the Editorial Board of Autism Spectrum News (Boston, USA), and Preventing School Failure (FL,USA). She also serves on the Advisory Board, Academics and Assessments, of Genesis School for Special Education, Singapore.
Research interests
Monica’s research is driven by a desire to assist individuals on the Autism Spectrum, or other neurodiverse conditions, to reach their full potential and live meaningful lives. This goal is pursued through a variety of research activities including the integration of emerging technologies to increase the reach of evidence based intervention for individuals with Autism, cross disciplinary, and cross cultural outreach.
