Biography
Ian Baecht worked as an English instructor at the secondary and tertiary level in Japan and California for a decade, before moving to Chongqing in 2017 as an English Language Fellow for the U. S. State Department. As a Fellow, he had the opportunity to lead teacher training workshops across China. He has presented at TESOL and second language teaching skills development and research conferences in Japan, California, China, Thailand, the Philippines, Mongolia, and South Korea, and has been teaching at WKU since 2019. Mr. Baecht is still active in teacher training with projects organized by the Regional English Language Office (RELO) at the U.S. Consulate in Beijing.
