Program Description

The Wenzhou-Kean University Communication (M.A.) program integrates the fields of human communication and organizational behavior, leadership and management, as well as cultural and media studies. It is designed to offer students a comprehensive and systematic academic perspective on Communication, with a particular emphasis on organizational communication. The program aims to cultivate advanced professionals who possess both solid theoretical foundations and strong practical competencies.

Drawing upon the cross-cultural educational strengths of Sino–U.S. cooperative education at Wenzhou-Kean University, the program is committed to preparing highly qualified graduates equipped with rigorous disciplinary knowledge and professional communication expertise to serve communities, industries, and governmental institutions with a global outlook. Delivered entirely in English, the program is supported by a diverse international faculty. Through a curriculum that combines core required courses in organizational communication and leadership with a broad range of elective offerings in journalism, media studies, and media production, students systematically develop both conceptual understanding and applied skills in intercultural communication.

The program requires the completion of a master’s thesis. Through structured training in research methodologies and opportunities to participate in research assistantships, students strengthen their scholarly competencies and establish a solid foundation for pursuing doctoral studies at leading international universities or exploring other advanced academic pathways.

By integrating theoretical rigor with practice-oriented instruction, the curriculum ensures that graduates are equipped with strong academic literacy and professional expertise. Upon completion, graduates are well prepared to pursue careers in media, public relations, management, and related fields, or to continue their academic development through advanced research and further study.
