Biography
Dr. Lingling Deng has interdisciplinary research and practice experience in the fields of psychology and social science. She has completed and published a number of peer-reviewed papers during her postgraduate study. Her research focused on a wide range of psychological topics, including children with developmental disabilities, sensation, environment, and technology-based interventions. She majored in sociology at Zhejiang University and completed her undergraduate study in 2014. Prior to her PhD study, she was at Monash University in Australia where she completed a cross-cultural research project with professors in mental health, received training from St. Vincent’s Hospital, and obtained her master’s degree in social work. During her PhD study, she focused on children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, undertaking an interdisciplinary research project supervised by experts from psychology, sociology and computer science departments. Outside the university, she had extensive experience in project cooperation with different psychiatry institutes in China and in the UK.
Research interests
Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder; smart environment in hospital and home settings; Sensory Processing Disorder; behavioral health and public health; identity development.
