Biography
Noorchaya Yahya is a lecturer in the School of English Studies at the College of Liberal Arts, Wenzhou-Kean University in China. Currently she is teaching Business and Professional Writing course and Academic Written Discourse. Specializes in TESOL Education, she has taught ESL in the USA and Malaysia, and EFL in Saudi Arabia for over 25 years. A tenured Associate Professor in Florida Atlantic University, Florida for 15 years in the College of Education, she trained pre-service and in-service teachers in TESOL education. For the past 11 years at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, she was in the College of Languages and Translation, teaching Linguistics and Cultural courses. A passionate educator of English Language Learners (ELLs) with more than 30 years’ experience in the field, she thrives in using cutting -edge pedagogy in educating ELLs.
Research interests
In general, my research interests lie in second Language writing, pragmatics, teacher education, vocabulary learning, and content-based learning. My recent collaborative publications demonstrate my research interests.
