Biography

Dr. Zahid Akter is an educator and researcher with over eight years of teaching English and Linguistics across Australia, Bangladesh, China, and the USA. He has published numerous research articles in peer-reviewed journals.  He presented his work at linguistic and applied linguistic conferences in countries such as India, China, Australia, Malaysia, Germany, and the USA. Dr. Akter has been awarded several prestigious grants and fellowships including the Asian Scholarship Foundation Fellowship, the Linguistic Society of America Fellowship, the Global Oregon Graduate Award, Language Legacies Grant, and Firebird Foundation Fellowship. Recently, he published a book titled A Grammar of Pangkhua with De Gruyter Mouton.  

Research interests

Morpho-Syntax, Language Typology, Historical Linguistics, Comparative Tibeto-Burman Linguistics.
